Burger King Accepting Dogecoin In Brazil

According to the company, Burger King restaurants in Brazil are accepting Dogecoin for Whopper-themed dog treats.

On July 27, 2021, company announced this offer through Twitter.

Translated to English, the announcement reads: “Are you out of Brazilian reals? Buy with DOGE! Burger King is revolutionizing galaxies once again! We are now accepting the much-beloved crypto Dogecoin as payment for DOGPPERS®. Buying is easy, visit our website.”

If Burger King wants to dip its toes in the cryptocurrency market, then it makes sense to start by accepting a dog-themed digital currency for dog treat purchases. One Dogpper will set you back three dogecoins, or about 60 cents in U.S. money. Burger King also accepts Brazil's government-issued currency, the real, for Dogpper purchases.

Burger King first launched its line of dog treats in 2019; however, this is the first time they have been available for crypto.
